Hi Glen

When you did this...

Can you tell us how please...I know Graham did it also but couldn't find the post on FB.

Ideally what you used as I'm trying to help someone do the same.

Cheers

Quick overview :-)

1) Sand off all the old veneer so you end up with a bright shiny clean and dust free metal plate. Any bits left will show up once you stick the vinyl on

2) cut out a piece of vinyl so it's slightly oversized

3) carefully take the backing off

4) now slowly stick the vinyl onto the metal. I use a rolling technique so you don't get air bubbles, if you do it's really hard to get rid of them so take car and or practice

5) now use a brand new Stanley blade (new I said) to trim the edges of holes out. This will therefore leave a wood front but a shiny side

6) get some walnut varnish (seriously) and with a fine paint brush varnish the edges. This will colour the bright edges to match

Can't remember what colour I bought. I think it was rose wood but at the cost buy a couple

Simples :-)
