Mr Tanks Wedge Collection.
Discussion
I went to the Rushden Transport and Country Show last bank holiday weekend and met up with Andy (Mr Tank) and his collection of wedges also there was John Clancy filming Andy's cars for part of the forthcoming TVR dvd he is doing. Andy took his blue SEAC and his racing yellow SEAC into the show ring and as he had run out of other driver's he very kindly let me drive his early green 350i round 10 times while he was talking about the cars and very nice it was too it's like driving a new wedge a credit to all the work he has done on it. The good news is he is now keeping his collection of wedges that he was thinking of selling last year to fund an Aston Martin purchase but now has other funds to do this with. Looking forward to more filming of the TVR dvd at this years BBWF.

As far as I'm aware John was filming a BBWF DVD that i asked him to which started at BBWF 2014 with 2015 in the mix along with this year and next...Just spoke with John and he explained why it won't just be a BBWF video...Makes sense really...Its about Wedges..So the DVD will be a TVR Wedge video..The BBWF will be a major part of it...We would like some video footage if anyone has any on the BBWF...Building Wedges....Or Wedges out and about..Nationally and internationally.
The yellow beast will be..And frankly has to be historically on it and apparently it does work...

It was a good opportunity for John to film a SEAC having the body put back on...
It seems the finalisation will be this year so John would like to ride in a couple of Wedges to get some of the car being driven....He will have a convoy of 50 Wedges leaving wroxall this year...

There may be some of you who may be asked to speak on the DVD but i will personally consult with you first.
Its about getting the Wedge recognised and showing how much of an exciting car it really is...
Its all good...
Cheers

Yes, I think a Wedge dvd in general is a much better idea than just covering the BBWF. This way it will cover a much more broader aspect of Wedge ownership. It will give a much clearer insight to rebuilds, collections and collectors , ownership and it's ups and downs, rather than just a convoy of Wedges driving along the highstreet or parked up in groups. I'm looking forward to the finished dvd as it will surly be a worth while addition to Wedge history.

John wants to ride with someone in the convoy from Wroxall...That should be an impressive 40 + Wedges in a group roaring up the road...Hopefully with a police escort...
John can edit all footage taken with go-pro's or the like...Ill try mine again without braking it again...Im gonna stick it on the boot....Im leading the convoy to Topcats Racing..It would be good if there were people who are not in a Wedge to get to a halfway marker and film us as we go by...We have footage from BBWF 2014 and BBWF 2015...Racing and historical factory footage will also be welcomed and used.
The plan was to get it finished at BBWF 2017 where we will be celebrating the 70th anniversary of TVR.
Passengers...SWMBO...GF's...Friends can help by capturing the driver of the Wedge...Dash cam footage is a bit boring...We want views from inside the cockpit...Wind may be an issue but it can be edited over...Actually windows up is not too bad with the roof off.
Cheers for now

The only Wedge DVD I would consider looking at is something that shows you how service, repair and look after one's car. A workshop manual/owners bible. You could throw in the other stuff about the history etc as bonus feature. Look at how many useful tips and ideas that have been posted - compile that into a well presented DVD and that would be worth paying for....

Hi Andrew...That is a good idea but a bit too involved..That kind of info will hopefully be available in a separate DVD...This is a video about the Wedge...How it went from an idea to production and how it evolved...John is trying to cover every model...The 450SEAC of Mr T was an opportunity for john to film the chassis and body being re-united...We need to cover all aspects while keeping it exciting for those watching...Information regarding restorations...Parts...What to look for when buying....How to go about fixing it is really down to submitted info...Personally if we featured the fixing of Wedges there would not be much room for anything else...

We need to keep the foundations interactive as the fraternity is an important part of Wedge ownership and this needs to be protected in order to keep the beasts alive...
If anybody can help with any original footage...New or old of Wedges having fun then please contact me and we will see what can be done to include it in the TVR Wedge DVD...Body lifts can be edited in but its an insight to Wedge ownership and not a maintenance DVD.
This can be meets...Wedgefests...Hillclimbing..Tasmin challenge footage...Obviously the material has to be non-licensed or copyright protected.
Cheers
