Virtually the same spec as mine, and an interesting estimate, it will be intriguing to see what it makes.

From the pics I would say that mine is at least as good or better, and I have insured mine for £8k

I believe mine is better. especially as the auction one has not done many miles between MOT's in the last few years. However, I have also been harping on about how undervalued these cars are to friends family those who would listen and to many who wouldn't or didn't want to. smile

I think the signs are there that these cars are on the way up, which has it's pros and cons, biggest pro of course being if prices rise people will be willing to spend more to keep wedges on the road. Also think the new road tax laws coming in next year will push the prices of older sports / high performance cars up further.

Will be keeping a close eye on the auction one as a bench mark, and in case I have to increase my insurance up from it's current £7k value.

Surely any new road tax laws will not be back dated and so will not affect Wedges.

Will get free tax in 10-15 years time though smile

My advice, now is the time to buy, buy, buy, buy. In a few years time sell, sell, sell, sell. $$$$$$$ There are no doubts now, it's all clear cut. Act now or be left out. Investors be warned!!!

For the enthusiasts, hang on to your cars and just enjoy them. It's for love, not money biggrin

3 bands only expensive, excessive and you've got to be joking I am not a premiership football player.

It's only going to apply to new cars for now, and to be fair it's the first year rate that's the killer for sports cars.

Have to agree from experience, 16 years ago I got offered a motorbike for £13k, didn't have the money as I had just bought a car, should have borrowed it. Now if I want the same bike they are anything from £100k to £300k so that ship has sailed.

Don't think wedges will go up that much wink but everything is relative.

Life is not a dress rehearsal.

Pretty good for an auction figure.

Many buyers are traders - so we might be seeing it for sale again soon.

It went for good money. There's a 450 on PH for less and still hasn't sold and it's a private sale which means better inspection opportunity. Unless of course the auction sale is provisional.

I think he's spending a couple of grand on it to bring it up to scratch.
