Hi Mates,

any idea where I can get the gasket to seal this :

Or any ideas to seal it.

What is the size of the washer sealing the oil pressure relief valve ?

Thanks.

Cheers

Bernd, that question has been asked before, including by me, and I don't think there was a definitive source for the gaskets. If I remember, the suggestion was to make one yourself, using proper gasket sheet, and the old one as a template.

Is it a gasket or a square section O ring?

Something like this?

Alternatively could you peel one off an oil filter?

Hi, yes I had the same issue when I got my 350i a few years back. Could not buy the gasket separately so bought some gasket sheet and made my own. Gasket material I used was 3mm thick Klingersil C4324A. An A4 sheet cost £5. Bit of a fiddle but hasn't leaked a drop since. For the O ring this was a standard O ring the same size as the standard oil filter so I bought a cheap filter and just used the O ring.

This is what the original gasket looked like:

New gasket is not pretty but does the job:

That's why I save the old O rings when I change filters - there's usually a lot of compliance in them still.

Hi mates,

thank you all for the advice. I already made a new gasket my own but I think it was a bit to small on the outer diameter. I´ll try to make a new one. To take the rubber from an oil filter is a really good idea, i´ll try this.
Looking forward to meet you at the BBWF.

Cheers
