I've never put my 400SE on one of these before, and I was thinking as I may be coming up to Topcats in the morning for another matter, I might hang on a little longer if the rolling road is still available. My car's running fine but just curious if the bhp is any higher since I put the new plugs in it seems to perform a lot better. If not, I can always take it somewhere local.

As there has been no reply I take it the rolling road is off then. I'll book my car in somewhere local. Thanks.

I've lost a whole 0.2bhp since last year. 188.5 in 2014, 187 last year and a reduced 186.8 this year. At least the RR lads let me have a little time on the rollers to get the fuel mixture set up a little closer to where it needs to be. Hopefully will get the 390SE on there next year.

We certainly kept Baz busy...I think the Dyno may of been out a bit..I know they do all differ in their reading as i know of one Wedge in particular that is most definitely more than was measured on the day...The main thing is that you have a healthy engine...smile

That dyno does read a bit under, compared to Surrey rolling road, which seems to be the benchmark in the TVR world, either that or SSR is too high. As with any wheel dyno there are too many variables to accurately compare results with other dynos on different days. The only way to accurately measure power is to take the engine out and run it on an engine dyno without the gearbox. The great thing about these days is that you can compare all the cars that are run on the same dyno on the same day as they are subject to the same variables.

Here you go. 10 down on last year, but different day, rebuilt engine, and I restricted them to an indicated 6K rpm on the tacho, which in reality is about 5800 rpm. Curve still climbing at that point, so there is more there.

Are they quoting BHP at the wheels or an estimate of the flywheel BHP?
