Hi

Today I went to look at a Tasmin 200 with an aim of adding it to my collection. When I saw it for sale I had the feeling that I had seen it before and when I saw the V5 its was confirmed I had. It's last owner was Paul King.
I have always wanted to obtain a 200 for my collection and I also wanted an early body design as I no - longer have an example in the collection. The thing is this car provides me with both of these. The good thing is Rose also likes the look of the car, so that's half the battle.
The car appears to be in near original condition, with only a few non - original parts and mod's. The wheels are in a good condition and fitted with near new tyres and there are a lot of new parts in the engine compartment.
I have agreed to buy the car if they give me a sensible price for the car as there are a number of things needing attention, least of which is the roof and possible the carpets. The body also has a number of areas which will need to be sorted in time. There is also a few things in the engine compartment which will also need immediately attention. They are doing there figures today and ringing me with a new offer tomorrow.

Looks very nice that. Was that the original colour scheme the first owner specified from the factory? Reminds me of the JPS Lotus F1 cars in the 80s, very nice and good taste

Very nice. I knew I'd seen that style and make of wheels before.

- Same as on my old S1 280i FHC.

Should be able to tease 150bhp out of the little Pinto motor. smile

Hi Gents

Thanks for the comments.

Dave my collection has changed a bit in the last 12 months, I sold three cars, two needed full body of restorations and even though I have recently done that to my 450SEAC I felt I could not do these other two justice they deserved as well as keep my other cars up to a good standard, so I sold them to people I know will do a full restoration. The other car was sold as it had become also a drain on the collection and also out of place.
The Tasmin 200 will help make my collection. So the list is as now (Before the Tas 200)

280i S2 FHC.
280i S3 DH.
350i DH.
350SE DH.
SX350 DH
420SEAC (Race car)
450SEAC

Cerbera 4.5

Plus the Tas 200 if they reduce the price a little because it needs a little bit of work. Paul has done a fair bit on the car that is obvious, but it needs a bit more to help preserve it for the future.

This will mean the Wedge collection will have an example of all the main three engines TVR supplied in the cars, plus the basic body shapes. OK I sold my 450SE but I am not trying to collect and preserve every example of the wedge just important ones.

I was recently even offered the only 390i SE FHC the factory made, but felt it was first over priced, but was not that important a car. Its a nice car but also needs a bit of work and TLC, OK if I had an endless amount of money yes I would buy it if no body else has. (It's at Kerridges in Needham Market.)

So I hope that explains things Dave

Funny how things change it was a low level car what no one wanted when I rescued the 200 and put it on the road and used it ! All of a sudden it's an important car I got rid of it because lack of use the last big run was wedge fest 2015 and leaving it in the garage is a Waiste sue didn't want to take it to shows anymore and I like my 400se ! The 2+2 is on hold whilst I sort out my 71 mustang

I'd love to be able to own the 390SE FHC... but can't.

At least at that event, the tiresome TR7 comments wouldn't be a problem, with one of the things parked right next door. biggrin

Hi Graham

Yes the FHC is a bit pricey they want £12,995 for it and I think it needs at least £2 to 5k on it depending on what you want from the car.

Indeed, with a Zender spoiler. Should have that sorted in a few days.
