I had a busy day today, the first thing I did was to take my Range Rover and car trailer to Colchester (148 round trip) to collect my new toy the Tasmin 200. I left home at 9.00am and got back at 2.00pm. After I moved things around I got the tas into my garage so I can do a few things I need to do, the first was to replace the number plates. After that I had to go up to the body shop with the Range Rover so I can collect my 450SEAC as they had at last finished it! By the time I got back home I was pretty well washed out, so Andy Hills came round and unloaded her and parked her next to my 280i S3 so I can clean them ready for the 11th and the show at Bishop Stortford.

I hope you are well for a start.
Ref my garage I can get three wedge in no problem, can't work on them but then you remove one and I can do a full resto in it no problem.

The pictures are miss-leading, I have found already that the car has a number of things which need sorting, so not as good as you may think. But that's what I love to do is sort the cars out and get them into as good and as original as I can.
I am greatful to the work and info Paul has given me with regard to the car, I just wished I could have purchased the car direct from him. The dealer who had the car was at the end trying to make 100% profit on it! But as Paul had told me the price they had given for it, I had great fun in getting the price down to a better level.
I hope to have done the majority of the small things which need doing, by next weekend, when it and the rest of my collection will be at the Bishop Stortford Motor Show, which is an event for new and classic cars.

Well we made some progress in sorting the Tas 200 today. The open ended pipe I had found in the engine compartment is in fact the fuel return pipe from the carb to the top of the off side fuel tank, the only fuel tank in the Tas 200 as the exhaust silencer sits in the place were the near side fuel tank is in the other wedges. The pipe is open so I will be blanking this off. The carb presently fitted doesn't have a return pipe fittings so its not the original carb. There was another carb in the boot which does have a return fixture, but the air cleaner fitted on the car doesn't fit so a replacement one will be needed when I can sort out what the original Webber carb was fitted. I also found the box in the near side off the engine compartment is an after market alarm system which I don't have the operating keys for so that was removed. I will be spending the next few days cleaning the engine compartment, yes its black paint work, but that is under a layer off black!

Well all the hard work paid off the Tas 200 made it to the Bishop Stortford Motor Show yesterday. It didn't like the hills in Stortford.
The spare pipe in the engine compartment is the return to the fuel tank from the carb, which should be a 32/36 DGAV 3D3 Weber which has a return to the fuel tank which is needed when the engine is run using the mechanical fuel pump. As the carb fitted doesn't have this Weber have supplied me with a fix for the problem.
