Hi Guys,
I've been looking to upgrade the front brakes on the 350i for a while now, but buying them on Fleabay on your side of the pond and shipping them over here to the states is really cost prohibitive.
Does anyone have the dimensions for one of the vented rotors used when upgrading? Maybe it's been discussed before? I have been told recently the a brake caliper from a 2000 Ford Focus SVT will bolt up to a TVR hub (unconfirmed). If this works then half the battle is done. I can get the dimensions for the caliper no problem.

So if one of you would happen to have a disk laying around and measure it up that would be great.
Info needed most likely would be;

Bolt circle - 5 x 112
Hub center hole size
Hub diameter front (OD) and back (ID)
Disk diameter
Disk thickness
Distance from back of disk to front of hub
Distance from front of disk to front of hub

There are several cars on this side of the pond that are close but without the info I can't get much farther, faster. I have located a rotor site which tells much of the info but it's for cars over here.

Can anyone help me out?

Charlie

I think I have a spare set of 400SE ones, if so I'll measure them tomorrow.

Likewise I've got the two old vented ones off my 390 that I swapped out at the weekend. I can measure them up tomorrow night if need be. I know they are 24mm thick and diameter is 262mm, bell height is 72.9mm and bore (hole) size is 69mm. I have found the following on Google which looks correct:

Number 7

Leigh, I think the op is probably referring to the integral vented rotor set-up, which is obviously completely different to that on the 400/450 series cars with the separate alloy bells.

If you guys can get to it, please measure your rotors and I can compare that info with the google data and compare to see what's close.

I really appreciate it guys!!

A collectors item I think. I didn't want to get my shiny steel one dirty!

Curious to see if you've found a comparable vehicle that has the brakes you were looking for...

No Leigh I'm afraid the X34 Landspeeder doesn't have wheels, so it don't have brakes neither ;^) Unless you are thinking of the Bond Bug underneath it - then very definitely "No, these are not the brakes you are looking for..."

;^)

No I haven't but I've not been working on that kind of stuff lately. The wife has me melting down her list. I should have it done by.............maybe 2018.

Are all the wedge front brakes the same from the factory? Same non-vented front disc for all the years?

There are two types of disc fitted as far as I know, both are from the Mk 2 Granada. The normal 280 and 350 used the non-vented Granada discs 262mm diameter and 12mm thick with the smaller M16 calipers off the less Granada models whereas the 390SE's and some SEACs used the Granada Estate 2.8i vented discs and larger calipers.

I'm no expert though so if I've got this wrong can someone correct me??

Bang on Keith

There are the 4 pots on the later 400SE's and SEACs but no idea what those came from
