...is this little piece of grey plastic at the trailing edge of the passenger door window runner. It got lodged in the window runner and stopped the passenger side door glass from raising. A bit of silicon mastic and it's back in place.

It seems to be there to stop the door glass rattling when the window is up, I hadn't noticed it before. It looks like a bespoke piece hewn from solid but I think it's an original TVR bit. Has anyone else got this piece? They're missing on the SEAC.

Ah, that makes sense. Both mine rattle despite new channel felt. It irrates the st out of me. Neither car has your rubber block so maybe that is the answer. Can't be difficult to cut from a block of neoprene.

Hi

Yes that's a TVR special piece cut from a spare piece they had laying about and just glued on. I have it on my SEAC and SX but not on some of the other cars.

It does seem to do a worthwhile job in stopping the window rattling... it's hard plastic though and not rubber. I suspect it's just a bit of odd U-shape plastic they had knocking about.

It's rubber on mine. I suspect it's just a bit of odd U-shape something they had knocking about.
Sadly sealsdirect doesn't have a match.

Evening Guys.

Mine fell out during the window channel replacement job, was also a hard plastic section. However, it was a nightmare to fix back in so i binned it !! All I used was a small inch or so strip of bike inner tube ( which I also used for the window channel) with contact adhesive lapped over the top and down, no more rattley window whilst driving and was only a 5 min job at most. just have to time the contact adhesive to go tacky enough to hold the rubber or it will bend back up and not stick properly.

No picture at the moment but will post one up tomorrow.

This is what it looks like when it's stuck back in place:

Yet another example of TVR making things up as they went along. It does it's job, I wonder if it was only fitted to customer cars if they complained of the rattle.

There's a couple of chamfers on the bottom to guide the window into the groove as it goes up but it looks like it might be a bit of discarded curtain rail or something similar!

It's probably different but the s series has a similar U shaped piece in the doors, mine were goosed so I 2 new ones from TVR official parts.. These may fit the wedge too? Will try to find a picture of one and post.

Cheers

I have one one and one off (and they're solid rubber), I can't see how they would stop the windows from rattling though as it doesn't even touch the glass does it?

This part TVR S28U 10183 is available for the S series from TVR parts. very similar, could be a starting point to mod from.
