Fuel Pressure Reservoir Tasmin 280i

Dear all,

I need to replace the fuel pressure rservoir. Looking at Ford parts they all have two pipe/hose connections at the front side.
The one fitted in my car has a third pipe connection at the rear side of the reservoir (the hose fitted here ends in the left tank half). Does somebody know from which car this reservoir has been taken? Or do I need to adapt the Ford ones...?

Are you talking about the fuel accumulator?

If yes then the pipe at the rear is a breather

Yes, thats it! Thanks. I took the wrong Ford one, there are others (Granada MKI) having the breathing connection at the rear side.

Will change it on Monday...

Hi Ralph.

You can by-pass the accumulator...It really only aids starting as it holds the fuel pressure once the car has been running ...Ford opted to not fit them after a certain year as they were not needed.

When they fail they cause hot start issues where the car will not start until cooled...

I ran my 280i for two years without one but did also remove the green plug connector on the metering head so that the fuel pump came on when in the 1st key position.
