One of the former owners of my car used to have it serviced by Haughin's in Barrow; one time they lent him a 350SX while the 390SE was having work done.
He reported that there was little to choose between them performance-wise but the supercharger whine used to get on his nerves.
Ironically my car now has the noisiest PAS pump in the world, it sounds a lot like a supercharger biggrin

I like the whine - it's like an audible badge of honour (and almost hides the gearbox whine).

When you get it cruising just right there's a nice whistling sound too.

I think the point was to show the 350i with a charger was as good in performance as a 400se, perhaps even a bit better with the extra torque lower down.

I just liked the bit where it says "this car should never be allowed to leave Cumbria "
