Hi Folks, can anyone advise me on refurbing my original 350i wheel caps. The bright work is ok but the Perspex domed pieces are rough. Is it possible to pop these out without breaking them, maybe put them in hot water first , or carefully drill a whole in the back to push them out. Any suggestions welcome .I have found the replacement decals on flea- bay. Cheers martin

Drilling from the back and pushing off was what I was thinking of doing. What decals have you got?

You have to be careful with the decals - a lot of replacements are flat rather than slightly domed, and that doesn't look right.

Hi mate

The original were a printed foil so won't push out.

I used the resin domed type for later cars on both my refurbished wheels...They have lasted 3+ years

Just had another look at the listings , the cheaper set is clearly flat printed, the £12 set is described as being domed.

I think this is what I bought...

GOLD

SILVER
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/TVR-Self-Adhesive-Set-of...

I stuck them over my old ones that were barely visible...My car lives outside so a good test...smile

Great looking wheels Mark. The caps I have, have a loose clear plastic domed cap covering the TVR logo. .

.....
By coincidence these are similar to the ones I've been considering, and from the same place.

Only these are 'Pearl'. Not sure what that will look like though.

The pearl ones for the same guy are really nice, I use them for the oil caps.
The self adhesive IMHO is not the best, esp on polished aluminum, so you may want to use some superglue instead, just to make sure they don't come off.
