I've managed to extract the fuel sender out from my 1984 2.8i Wedge without breaking any securing bolts.drink Now the problem of a replacement as mine is seized. I've dropped it into a solution to see if it is recoverable but a resistance check revealed no smooth readings readings Are they still available please? Thankyou. J C.

Some time back there was a thread on tank senders where the OP claimed that three different types were fitted...! Well mine was different to all of them so that makes four biggrin
Mine's a VDO unit but what car it was from eludes me at the moment...

Thanks Ian & Mark.I guess if the mounting holes/plate fit the tank fitting it will be a simple matter of calabration? Not that a Wedges fuel gauge was ever accurate. I'll see if the old one can be brought back to life. Thanks J C.

You could speak to Richard Thorpe...Make a note of what gauges you have fitted...However even when mine was replaced it was about as accurate as a bent arrow....eek

As long as you get one that fits, you can always adjust the range with an added resister either in series or parallel. use an adjustable resister (pot) to find the min and max values of the sender, and them adjust the sender to match.
