Hey guys

Hope all is well. The interior on the wedge is just starting look a bit tired and wondering what the options are to either tart up a little or retrim.

Some vinyl (like round the roof) have come off so I've glued on again but the foam behind is like glue dust, it's absolutely horrible and short. Of ripping it all out I don't see any way to resolve it. The centre section has lost all its 'foamyness' and just vinyl on fibreglass which isn't nice.

The seats have also got wear on the piping on the bolster. Don't get me wrong, it's not horrific but it's just not nice.

Any ideas on either tart up tricks or dare I ask about cost of a retrim!??

Hi Matt

I think it's a personal thing what to do, plus it can depend on what budget you have available.

To do a re-trim and a roof could cost you £3k or more, that just depends on the type of materials you chose to use.

Contact Zigga on here he will help you out and refresh your interior, it probably can get away with a refresh as you say rather than a retrim same as he as said with mine

Hi Matt

Foam can be revitalised on seats etc but scrim foam which is on transmission tunnel covers is a different story...You could replace that yourself as I know you are fairly handy with stuff...You would need to carefully remove the vinyl, Replace the foam and then re-stick the vinyl...Most of the time its only stuck on the sides.

Leather and vinyl can be thoroughly cleaned with a mild soap and warm water solution then allowed to dry naturally.
There are products that clean vinyl and there are available leather and vinyl dyes from furniture clinic that are impressive.

If the piping is scuffed then it may well be rescued but if it starts to tear then it will need replacing which is a seat out job.

Unfortunately the pillars around the screen need the screen to be out to replace the vinyl.

Hopefully this helps.

Thanks zig, that's really handy advice.

What thickness foam? 6mm??

The seats will need to be taken out and done by someone who knows what they are doing but I should be able to meddle through the rest and make an improvement 😂

Hi Matt.

4-6mm is fine...Gauze side up and you will need some high temp spray adhesive, Especially in areas exposed to sunlight.
Cover both surfaces but always work on a section at a time as trying to do it all at once will end in tears...And always allow 30 seconds for the solvent to evaporate off a tad before sticking together...
