Sorry about such a basic question but what's the "Cold" valve clearence for a 2.8i Cologne engine? The only figure I can find is "Hot" 0.014" inlet, 0.016 exhaust? Or isn't there a setting for a cold engine? Thanks J C.

Haynes Sierra V6 manual gives same figures for cold.

Thanks Mike. I'm sure I used those settings on the initial rebuild. Cheers J C.

Could always run through them again once it is hot but that'll be near enough for initial start up (from rebuild?) scratchchin

Hi John

It says in my Capri 2.8i manual...
Cold

Inlet =0.35 (0.014)
Exhaust = 0.40 (0.016)

No settings for hot that I can see....

Don't forget to double check the layout of the inlet/exhaust valves against the diagram in the Haynes manual before you start adjusting.

Ford never gave a hot VC setting for the Cologne so set them cold wink if rocker gear is sound there is no noticeable tappet noise from the Cologne IMO regardless of what some might say rolleyes and yes 14 thou In and 16 Ex
