Blue 450SE on the bay
Discussion
Hi mate
I have spoken to people who have been to see this car...Some recently and some 5 years ago when it was being stripped for parts...Its probably best not to discuss too much on here as it could become a name and shame thread...To me it looks like it careered off the road and ended up in a pond...
You can email me if you wish...

Another past viewer has also contacted me about the car, I'll PM you both but it seems like it has history...
One previous well known owner - Keith Moon by any chance?

Digressing slightly, what's the thinking behind coming back to a Wedge from a Chimp? Just interested in your thoughts on the contrast between the two.
Hmm yes, good question.I've owned one 350i Wedge and 3 Chimaera, present one for nearly two years.
Based purely on this:
The Wedge seemed rather "flexible" in the chassis department compared to the Chimaera and to be honest I didn't like the feel of that. In addition the car I had had a painted dash and whilst the seats were beautifully re-trimmed at a cost of £700 by the previous owner, they felt "overstuffed" and I sat on them not in them. A few other minor niggles like the steering column danced from side to side so much it would have won "Strictly" and I sold it and went back to a Chimaera.
Now the Chimaera is and felt a design 10 years fresher, there is almost room to rest my clutch foot, it doesn't flex, feels planted on the road and the boot is much more usable. And the one I have now is a "good-un" owned previously by two enthusiasts.
So you'd think I'd stick with the Chimaera.
However, the doors aren't as big or open as wide as those on the Wedge and I'm getting a bit less flexible with age. The boot whilst bigger annoys me every time I try to squeeze the targa panel into it. The rear roof panel is a backward design, creasing the window panel unlike the wedge which just folds.
I really need to try a couple more Wedges before returning to them to see if mine was a poor example - it certainly didn't look a bad car and had been well looked after by the guy I bought it from.
And by going back to a Wedge, I'd release a little bit of cash for another cause.

Can someone please PM me with the story behind this one as it did look like a viable rebuild on fleabay and I need someone to put me off it as Mrs BH wouldn't be happy if I brought Tammy a stable mate before I retire.
One day I will buy and refurbished a Wedge, but it sounds as though this shouldn't be the one.
TIA
