Any trick or suggestions for separating it from the servo? The nuts and brake lines are off. I've been spraying the MC/servo connection area with penetrating spray and tapping the MC with a rubber mallet but so far no joy. I don't want to damage anything else with too much prying or banging. Thanks.

Hi mate

Have you removed the armature/push rod from the pedal end?

Nope, didn't think of that. I thought it floated on the M/C end. Don't have my Bible with me and my FSM doesn't cover brakes.

Does the push rod go through the servo? And releasing it from the pedal allows it to pull out with the M/C?

It has been years since I last did this and those brain cells are gone. Thanks Grady

ETA: Climbed in the footwell as best I could and took a look. I see the threaded end of the rod and what appears to be the bracket to the pedal arm that 'looks' riveted on? How does it break apart?

No worries, that is what I thought. Just wanted to confirm there wasn't a secret nut.

Before disconnecting the pushrod press on the pedal. It will probably pop off.

For future reference:

Pressing the brake pedal didn't work. But I had previously drained the plastic reservoir and unscrewed the brake lines from the MC. Might have worked if the system was still tight.

Took off the reservoir and thunked the MC a couple of times with a heavy 12" pipe wrench. That broke it loose. Turns out there was a lot of rust in the throat of the servo. Not sure why. I know DOT 3 is hygroscopic but I didn't think fluid was leaking out.

Weirdly, two of the three of the M10.100 fittings went right in but the rear one would not catch a thread. After trying everything (3-4 trips to town looking for flair fittings/tools) found out it would only fit if the MC wasn't mounted.
