Need air flow meter replacement....
Discussion
Having given up trying to get my 390 started and/or running I've had it looked at and the airflow meter is the issue. So is the 390 item the same as the 350 version or any Land Rover flapper system item? Secondly would I be better off swapping to a Jag meter and if so what else needs changing and is it worth the effort? Or thirdly do I get mine reconditioned? Any help and advice greatly appreciated and if there's a spare going anywhere for beer tokens even better...

Swapping to a jag unit is not a direct swap - it has different brackets, different hose diameter and also different spring rates which will need carefully adjusting, ideally on a rolling road.
The standard 350i unit should work okay, but typically the 390 runs at a higher fuel rail pressure to get more fuel into the engine.

Thanks for the info, will probably leave the Jag item for the mo then. I have a loan 350 meter fitted at the mo and the car starts and idles and drives ok and have a rising rate fuel regulator which has just been adjusted to the correct pressure. Just need to get myself a good unit then or mine refurbed. I just wanted to get other views as to the best options.
Thanks again, Al.
