Afternoon people,

Right, things are clearing to a point where I can dedicate some time to sorting out the Trevs.

Wendy is a 350i with flapper.

My newly detailled plenum and rocker covers are ready to replace the exisitng ones. The plenum, however, has a blanking cap and no monting holes for the / an air control valve.

Am I right in that I can leave this off. Blank off the vacuum feed. Then it'll be cannon fire ahoy?

Are there any engine issues with doing this?

If relevant;

Manifolds are new, stainless and ceramic coated - well will be once I confirm they fit.

I have shortened the intake trumpets 20mm and fitted a 5mm thermal gasket below.

Do you mean the extra air valve that's fitted to the back of the plenum ?

That's the most important part of a wedge (apart from the small leak in the manifolds)

I't wot makes the pops and bangs! (The manifold leak increases the effect!)

BTW since I made copper exhaust manifold gaskets I haven't looked back, they have been reused 5 or 6 times now and still going strong. Much better than the crappy fibre ones.
