After a bit of advise again, getting on well with my Tasmin S1 FHC wiring faults ( like most of it didn't work), I'm finding most the faults are due to poor contacts.

One area I can't get to is the warning lights on the dash, for example, I have the headlights working with main beam, however, the 'Blue' warning light isn't working, any idea how I can get behind the dash to check the lamps please?

1. Take the seat out and slide into the foot-well on your back. (Always helpful to have a mate on hand to pass you tools and pull you out when you get cramp thumbup)

2. If you haven't got enough space, try and loosen the nuts which clamp the dash moulding to the tub. Feel along the front edge of the top of the dash (by the windscreen, not far in from the 'A' post) and see if you can feel the top of the bolt under the padding. When you find it, reach up under the dash and try and undo the nut. (I've replaced my nuts with wing-nuts to make it easier next time). If you can get these nuts loose you can pull the dash towards you and gaing a lot more space to get your hands into. NB. you'll have to remove the plastic column surround to do this.

3. Get back in the foot-well laugh

Sounds a right pain just to check out some dash lights!
Thanks for the advise, I'll do as you say and see how I get on :-)

They sure did have some odd ways of putting the cars together, don't know what they was thinking the more I work on the Tasmin!

Someone ask the question for me at the BBWF, looking like I'm not able to attend myself .

Have managed to get the dash off tonight, found the cable going to the high beam had come off, not that easy to solder back on I'm finding!

Finding some earth straps behind there which are not connected to anything, good time to get it all back to how it should be!

Probably how much they were going to drink on Friday night or the girlie calendar on the wall of the workshop.

Have you read the article on p9 in 'Sprint' this month? Have a look at the paras 2 & 3 in the second column. Para 2 starts "The first thing you do before you try to improve a vehicle is look at the warranty claims." There then follows a list of some the faults we are correcting now as we rebuild the cars. It looks like TVR built the Tasmin as a "project car" from day one laugh

That paragraph also explains why I have one alloy rear hub carrier and one steel one.

The different hub carriers could equally be due to the car being spun off a roundabout and hitting a kerb...
