Up for sale on the PH ads, via auction. Says engine capacity is 2.5 litres. You'd have thought they'd have at least proof read the ad before posting it.

Kept in a garage for 20 years....I hope all the fuel hoses have been changed...Mind you there is no way of telling how much fuel there is anyway...hehe

If I paid that much for any car then I would want to just drive it...Its a lot of money for a garage queen...smile

If it's as described, that's a very competitively priced SEAC.

I read it as the owner happening to have a heated garage it lived in when not being driven but the MOT history is curious. I has covered 20 or so miles between tests over the last 3-4 years but prior to that it managed to get 4 MOT's passed without the mileage changing, must have even trailered it for that annual job !

I find SEAC s that are dragged from a field after sitting for 15 years, then made road worthy, then spanked within an inch of their life are the best ones ;-)

Never worry about stone chips lol

I took those photographs showing the car at the1987 motor show. To own it 30 years later would be very cool, but I have a feeling that the misses would take a different view. There would be a lot of horse trading to make that happen. Still, having those photographs taken in 1987 hanging on the garage wall and the car parked there too would be pretty awesome.

To be honest, if I was in the market to buy a SEAC, 19k is about all I would want to pay, especially knowing that I can but a decent 400SE for around 11k. I would not want to pay that much extra for its historic value. For me, and I'm sure for many, it would just be a weekend driver and I couldn't justify paying 25k for that. Just my opinion.

Yes, I suspect that was actually a fair final offer when you consider there is usually a buyers premium of something like 10-15% at auctions, plus VAT no doubt.

Historics at Brooklands charge 10% + VAT commission on cars, so 12% really.

That would have been £21,280 in total but not accepted. Then you have to go to Ascot and collect it before midday on Monday or they'll charge you storage.

Hello All,

So I bought this car via tele just a trusting soul just because I REALLY wanted ti. It should be in South Florida in about 4 weeks so your guess is as good as mine as to the condition ? I used to have a 280i which I loved but it needed more power so I sold it. Full disclosure tp the fact that I have 2 DeTomaso Pantera built to 450+ HP so I like to go fast. When I was young I had a Triumph TR8 so this Wedge should take me back home. Will update on how good/bad it is when it arrives ?

Cheers,
Tony

PS / I attended Big Bad Wedge Fest in 2007 and decided TVR wedge people are my kinda folks !
