Colin

Best of luck with that mate. The rear brakes are a hateful job. Had that pleasure on 3 cars now. Hope you get it all sorted for the BBWF.

My rear brakes were recently seized.

I did spend plenty of time reading Ian's excellent pages but in the end just popped out the pads and levered the pistons to free them up.

Hi Colin.

If you were just replacing pads then no but if you are replacing calipers then yes, However I'm not sure how easy or difficult this job is..

The diff is a heavy lump...And if you are going to this length then replace the discs and the handbrake pads...Also check the diff mounts which are the same as the trailing pin mounts....

Hope you sort it...

Have you tried jacking up the hubs slightly so the suspension isn't on full droop. I've noticed on mine that the UJ's can go tight then free off at this acute angle. Cheers Steve

Had a similar issue on my old 280
Couldn't get brakes adjusted properly - was a warped brake disc causing a tight spot at a certain point on its rotation . New discs solved it smile

Actually the rear pads and calipers are (relatively) easy to change out on ramps alone with a creeper. A good magnetic light and mirror is very helpful. If you use ramps, you will need to jack each hub up a bit to adjust the e-brakes.

Never tried the calipers though I've I think I have read they can be changed w/o dropping the rear cage. Grady
