Diff ?

Hi guys,

trying to get her fit for the road (350 series one)

Clutch was not working so went to the bible, which recommending raising rear wheels and starting in gear.

Upon doing so, it appears only driver side wheel is driving. Passenger is not, and clunking noise occuring from diff area.

Engine off, both wheels rotate and turn the prop.......any ideas ?

(Doesn't seem to have sorted clutch either)

okay, i lied.....clutch seems to be operating, albeit i think i should get it serviced.
Took her for a drive and she seemed okay.
i mean, no clunking from the back ??
Would that have been the lsd doing its thing earlier ?

Hi mate

Hope you are well...Might just be where it hasn't moved for donkeys.....

I would check all the oil levels...gearbox...diff and get the UJ's greased if they have grease nipples...(ooo missus)..Prop as well.

Check your brake & Clutch fluids...If they are a dodgy brown colour or you have a layer of black residue in the res then you will need a flush through and possibly a master cylinder...

Yeah, sitting a while so will change all fluids.
What dou you think on the diff thing ?

If there is a "Clunking" then I would first check the UJ's...inner and outer....Not sure that a diff would clunk...

You can get clunking noises from the rear driveshafts when you drive them with the rear jacked up but the suspension hanging down. It's because the UJ's are running at more extreme angles than normal. This isn't a fault, just normal behaviour.
