Should the amber indicator lens be on the outside as on the Taz on the left or should the parking light be on the outside as on the Taz on the right? Does it matter for an MOT?

I've just cleaned up the lens off the driver's side...

You can just make out "TOP RH". So, this one is fitted to the RH side of the car as you sit in it. Putting this on the other side so that the amber lens is on the outside would mean fitting to the RH side as you look at it.

Confused scratchchin

According to Lighting Regs, so long as they are less than 400mm from the outside extremity of the vehicle, they are legal. So either actually works.

I've looked at the photos I took at Blenheim last year. The Series 1 cars had the side light on the outside while the later cars had the indicator on the outside. Maybe this was just coincidence?

Maybe not. There is a photo of the S1 on the front of 'CAR' from February 1980. The side-lights are on the out side thumbup

In any event I'm going to try both ways and see what look best.

All the early ones I've seen in books have the sidelights to the outside as your car has.

Sidelights to the outside to show the corners of the car in bad light.
