Wedge front brakes query
Discussion
Hi,
I'm new to TVR world, and just getting to grips with my Tasmin auto's little quirks. Today's issues, squealing brakes - not too hard to fix, missing anti squeal shims was a bit of a clue. But, I've got a sticking piston now, one of the front calipers is new, naturally the sticking one is in the other (old) one on the right side . Reading this forum there's a fair bit of info as to where the calipers originate, but before I rush out and buy a Ford Cortina Mk 4 one could one of you knowledgeable types confirm if THIS(link) is the right one?
Thanks,
Ian

Calipers are off a Granada mk 2 but capris and escorts also used them. The 390SE and some SEACS used the larger vented discs and calipers off the Granada 2.8 injection estate. They are simple and easy to rebuild with a new seal kit. Squealing can also be down to the pads. mintex 1144 pads really squeal so loads of copaslip on the back is needed.
Hi,
Thanks for the info. I did think of rebuilding the offending caliper, but having wrestled with sticking pistons in the past and looking at the cost of pistons, seals etc (as another contributor has pointed out) i figured I might as well just get a new one - to match the shiny new left hand side one! TBH I'm also a bit idle. I'm a bit confused as to the numbering of all the Ford options, so just to be sure, is THIS CALIPER right for my wedge or not?
Cheers,
Ian
