TVR 350i Wedge gearbox
Discussion
Hello
I wonder if someone could help me with some gearbox information. My wedge's gearbox is in need of repair (synchro hubs, selector forks...). Are the Land Rover LT77 gearbox parts the same as SD1 Vitesse LT77? I appreciate the ratios are different, but I am hoping that is provided by the actual gears (which are all right) rather than the parts which I have been advised need to be replaced. Thanks in advance for any help.

350i had the SD1 Vitesse box as standard, so yes same LT77.
But for parts the suffix is important to get the same parts (could be that it is not a Vitesse box anymore), so to be sure look this up (RPi website has information how to find it) it is like a chassis number on a flat spot on the box in which there is a character, think Vitesse LT77 is D.
Later boxes seem to be even stronger (land-rover) and some rebuilders are able to improve the input shaft bearing and put an oil (standard nothing present!) on the selector shaft, avoiding oil to leak out as it does (need to top up mine every year..., which is filled with Mobil1 since a couple of years).
