My ecu is faulty and I need it sorted soon before the loan unit I have at the mo is required back by its owner....
I was going to use BBA Reman but just wondered if there were any other recomendations?
The other option is a Mark Adams ecu, is it worth the extra expense?
All advice greatly appreciated....

Cheers, Al.

You could try re-soldering it yourself.

It usually takes about an hour to do the job, and your outlay would be a decent soldering iron and a reel of leaded multicore solder.

This one off the flea is £15 and the solder should be a few quid so less than £20 total.

In terms of static precautions just lay out the iron and ECU on a bit sheet of aluminium foil and touch the foil before handling anything. But the ECU is pretty robust.

Thanks Adam, yes I have it apart at work right now and my mate is an avionics engineer so he's going to look at it this evening. I can't see anything loose or obvious but having just been given a lesson on what dry solder joints are that's no surprise. Hopefully we'll get it done later when work is a bit quieter. Took the wedge to a local classic show today and with the loan standard 3.5 ecu installed it felt good and still popped and banged so not sure the 390se is actually any different.

Cheers, Al.

I think I have a 390se ecu in my garage. I can dig it out if you are interested?
