Does anyone know where I can get the dubber seal/grommet which seals the neck of the fuel filler cap where it goes into the body?

Mine is a FHC Tasmin but I'm guessing TVR used the same seal on all models fitted with the same or similar size filler neck.

Thanks in advance thumbup

If it's same size as older cars, M/Taimar etc. there's a good chance Adrian @ will have one I'd have thought scratchchin

Generic (or the Triumph ones I tried) are likely supposed to be used with sheetmetal. The gap is far too narrow for the thick TVR grp body. Or, at least that was the case with the one I tried. YMMV.

I've ordered 2 x G10-R572-32-508 from HERE (thanks Phillpot). The dimensions are pretty close although the panel thickness might be an issue. The grommets are spec'd at 3.2mm whereas the body is 5mm. I'll let you know what happens.

Turns out the problem on mine was caused by the previous owner. He used ordinary 'U' section, cut to the wrong size and then the total pillock fitted it with the join at the bottom. He must have intended it to leak. No one can be that stupid, can they? laugh

I've checked with the seller, this fits a panel thickness of between 2-3mm.

Trimming and refitting the 'U' section with the join at the top has cured the leak. So if the grommets I've ordered don't fit it's not the end of the world.

Minimum for individual customers (ie not companies) is just £10.00. So two @ £2.20ea plus the postage and VAT was £10.08. Not bad if they fit. Watch this space.

I thought the grove would be a bit narrow ....

but it goes in fine...

The little kink around 7-o'clock smooths out when you push the filler neck in.

Sorted!

All we need now is some more torrential rain to check it's watertight. redcard
