So I hit a pothole on Saturday that snapped the one side 8mm rose joint. Everything else is fine but I need a source to replace the rose joint. Plenty here stateside, however, the head of the rose joint is too big. the link itself has a head of 6mm and 8mm from bearing end to bearing end. Anybody source these. Car drives like a tank now that I am back on the factory swaybar link, even with new purple bushes in there. Help me enjoy my Tas again. smile

Here in the UK it's McGill Motorsports that stock them. I've recently made up a new set of rose jointed drop links and bought the bits off them.

Here's the link to the thread covering the details.

Thanks, those look a lot wider in the clevis then the SH ones. No issues with 'em in there. I figured it needed that much more movement side to side in the clevis. I do like your "step" washer. Did you get those at the same place?

Hi, the original drop links came with both of my Wedges and both are SH items supposedly. I think he made a few alterations as time went on. My brackets and connecting bolt were all existing, I just bought the new rose joints off McGills and bolted the bits back together.

I welded one back together - it lasted literally 5 minutes driving time. Which was fine as my MoT station is 2 minutes drive away, it was OK there, got the pass, and snapped on the way home ;^)

It was better than waiting another week for a replacement to arrive.

Okay, I'll ask again as McGill Motorsports is a dead end for me unless I want to replace the whole things which I know I could source the stuff here if that is the case. Anybody have a source for 8mm rose jointed male thread that have a head 8mm or less? It would be the ones that fit the SH "Stepped Clevis" or the redish ones.

Ben what does the 8mm refer to - the depth of the hole in the swivelly part?

[Grrr]

I would post an image but thumbsnap is now refusing me.

In any case, buy a standard one, then grind down the unwanted width, you will still be left with a spherical inner bearing, just a little bit narrower.

TO keep it still when grinding, insert a sacrificial bolt into the hole.

Yup you got it, a little over 8mm for that "depth". Only ones I can find are teflon or nylon which the one I would be replacing is not.
