Split Rims dishes

Hi guys,

Long time since I posted, been busy being a dad and working like a dog!!

Now winter is almost upon us, a few jobs are planned for the wedge (more on that later) but the wheels are on the list.

I feel quite happy with the process of splitting , the main section is easy to have done but the main reason for the refurbishment is because the previous owners have scuffed and dented the dish in many places so I can't just polish.

Can they be repaired or shall I just shell out for a new set? How do I know what size? Any tips?

I took the lacquer off a few years ago and they are polished up OK but i want perfect

Another thought-could you go for a bigger dish on the rear? Would that give clearance or ride issue?

Others here have suggested they are not great to deal with but its an option. You could always buy with a credit card for added protection.

You can try image wheels. They made new outer rims for me as mine were both buckled http://www.imagewheels.co.uk/

Thanks Guys, i think new would be the best option for a stonking result.

Anyone tried going slightly wider on the rear? Dont want to have rubbing issues but would look good!

Unless it offered a better tyre choice then you might want to look at wheel spacers instead for that fill the arches rub on every tight roundabout look..

I run 16" 245's on the rear, some minor rubbing issues sorted by adding bump stops and grinding a little inside one wheelarch.

If you are changing the rims you might consider 16" 8.5J or 9J.

No news exactly... Although I have slowly started to pull the car apart ready for the body shop.

I think I have found a place that might repair the rims ... Will update!

speak to wedged up he bought brand new rims from Germany from stock
company is called felgen fuchs
