Hi all

Has anybody re trimmed there own door cards. If so, is there a reason the top of the door card is constructed with a separate piece stitched together, or can it be covered with a single continuous piece?

Cheers

Steve

Hi Steve

It depends if its vinyl or leather...If vinyl then you can persuade it gently with a heat gun and use a good temp glue...if leather then you may struggle getting it to follow the contour of the door top near the mirror pod and the cutting & tucking might be a mare...

Cheers Zig, i suspected that would be the case, it is actually vinyl. i thought it should be a realistic DIY project if stitching isn't required

Should be okay...My old 280i didn't have stitching, okay it was a door cap and not a card but in principal its the same at the top...

Hi I did mine a few months back it was stitched at the top but I was quoted £400 + for 2 door cards so had a go it was done in vinyl can be done by yourself but at the tricky top corner best to get help not enough hands used a hair dryer to stretch the vinyl I used spray on glue think it was called trimbond hope it goes well
