Is the 100amp alternator unit fitted to the Serp engined TVRs (Chim / Griff) the same as the one fitted to the S6 engine (T350/Tamora etc...).

Cheers.

Having looked at alternatives for the Lucas A133 65amp alternator on my 390SE there appears to be a miriad of different back connections so unless you're changing the wiring connections you need to be careful of the selection.

It's quite easy to adapt the existing connectors with a ring connector and a 5mm short nut and bolt onto a short stub to the new alternator, then you can revert to original at any time. Shrink wrap or insulation tape over it.

I did this to use an SD1 alternator which has a funny blade style plug, then when that wore out, I went back to the lucas, and merely took off my adapter.

The reason I asked was two fold.

1., I wish to swap to and electric hydraulic pump set up on Wendy and that will need more oommph from the alternator.

2. I have a spare Tamora alternator sitting in my shed.

I have already sourced the 'Serp' type pullies for the water pump and crank.
