Clutch release lever issues
Discussion
Anyone have a solution for my following predicament !
My clutch release lever has come of it's pivot and is currently lying in the bottom of the bell housing. Has anyone managed to put back on insitu, or would probably be a gearbox out jobbie.
If so does the gearbox drop out from underneath the car with out moving the engine (Don't want to remove engine again !)
Or is it possible to slide the gearbox back a couple of inches so I can get my hand in there and put the thing back on ? Don't need to change the clutch as was not that old when replaced engine last year, so only need a few inches (no sniggering in the back)

you can take the box out from underneath but you have to remove at least one exhaust manifold and move the engine foward about 6 inches. It seems rather strange that the lever has just 'fallen off' I'd suspect something has broken, probably the soppy little fork shaped spring which clips it onto the pivot.
