Ok so got the 200 on the road finally, winced at the insurance but needs must, all going well after a new alternator, but took her out tonight and been misfiring every 10-15 seconds and every few minutes would cut out as if running out of fuel. The weird thing is that with the engine off you can pull the throttle and hear the petrol being squirted in the carb so i assume it's getting fuel, brand new pump in the last few hundred miles and brand new filter in the last 30, will check as much as i can think of over the weekend but wondering if anybody has any suggestions? One more thing, the ht leads look rather old so i was thinking of getting a new set anyway, am i correct in thinking that the king lead needs to be longer that an oem kit would provide? Or is that only with the 280 models? All help greatly appreciated! smile

You don't say what carb you are running but the fuel that you hear going in to the engine may be from the accelerator pump, you may well have a blocked or partially blocked main jet. If the car has not been used for some time the fuel very quickly turns to gum and blocks the jets. Try some carb cleaner down the venturi, if that doesn't work the jets will need to come out to be cleaned. Before doing any of that though it would be worth changing those leads.
Good luck. The car looks great by the way!

I'll get those leads ordered tonight, hopefully here early next week smile Weber 32/36 DGAV, it does indeed have an accelerator pump so that could be what i'm hearing yeah, previous owner let the car sit for 9 months without moving or starting as fas as i'm aware so gummed up carb could well be the issue, will check the jets over the weekend or at very least take the float cover off and see if there's any sign of gummed up fuel. thanks very much! smile
