I just spoke to Richard Thorpe about springs and shocks & roll bars.
He advised against fitting a roll bar if you are tall he said "you may well bang your head on it".
So, has anyone in Kent got one fitted so I could try sitting in their car to see if rollbar and I are compatable? I would like to fit one (makes me feel better when on the track) but obviously it's a non starter if it's a head banger!

Im in Hampshire.... Just under 6ft. I had my "style Bar " (not a roll bar cos its not been crash tested) angled back to compliment the rake of the windscreen

Im in Enfield and have a Tower View roll bar on my 400. You're welcome to come and check it out if you want. Alternatively why dont you come to the Ace Cafe meet on 6.5? I'll be there along with quite a few other wedges by the looks of things.

Thanks guys.
Can't make the Ace Cafe on Friday but I do have a pass out for the Canterbury outing on Sunday. Tell me if you'll be there anyone?
Andy, just sent you an e-mail.
I've been looking at my car well pulling off the trim behind the seats actually and was just wondering (pending seeing some on sunday hopefully) do the bars mount between the seat and the trim where the speaker is mounted or can the be made to go down thru the trim and mount further back behind the seat?
I can't fit into mine with the seat in any position other than right back tight against the bulkhead.

I'm not in Kent but do have a roll bar fitted. I'm 6' and there is a risk of banging head on roll bar. However, I bought some roll bar foam as used in race cars from Demon Tweaks. Easy to fit, colour coded, not too expensive - it offers some impact protection...looks good too.

Spotted a wedge on PH classifieds with a bar (ref 41752). contacted the seller and it turns out it is a Tower View one and it doesn't restrict seat travel or headroom. So, I spoke to Tower View but it was bad news. Turns out that because my car is an early model there is a body mounting bracket over the shock mounting and this gets in the way of their mountings.
Jason, I looked at your pics and next I think I'll phone Peninsular to discuss what they can do for me.
I will get one fitted in the end. And, I will keep the forum updated, even if I'm not asked to!!!
