Done a silly thing

Hi all
With the wedge fest this weekend I thought it would be a good idea to remove and strip dizzy .Had a bit of hesitation previously and now running loads better but has still been struggling to rev past 4K so noticed rotor would move before springing back . After stripping noticed large Spring moves on pegs and weights not returning fully . Is this right or should they return back to touch each other and no play in springs ,if so where can I get some .
Need help quick cheers trace

Hi Trace I see you have a V8 after a bit of research... ;^)
The weights should spring back but if they don't go all the way you'll be left with a little too much advance.
As your problem is that it won't rev past 4k it sounds like you don't have enough advance.
I would put the dizzy back together and set it up with a bit more advance on idle, say 9 0r 10 degrees BTDC, and for now it will work OK for the fest, when you get it there you will have no end of people poking under your bonnet with helpful suggestions!
