350i headlights

Hi folks,

So whats the best way to get to / see the headlight motor wiring? My lamps work but will not pop up and if wound up still can't see jack all anyway, apart from them retracting with the ignition turned on. Obviously a bad earth or loose wire in there somewhere but can't reach anything or see what I'm doing.

1. Get them raised
2. Remove battery earth
3. Remove headlights from pods

Then you can see inside easily enough.
