I noticed the offside window on my Tas was going up slightly too far, so using the knowledge gained from this forum I adjusted the cable downwards. I got it almost right and gently closed the door to check. Good thing I did, the window was a good inch higher than it had been a couple of minutes before. It turned out that the cable loop had snapped at the window end. It must just have been on the point of breaking when I first noticed the window going up a shade too far.
So, potential disaster averted.
Hoping to recycle the rest of the cable as there's quite a bit of spare at the door bottom end to allow a loop to be re-made at the window end.

Job done after a couple of false starts - the cable firstly got stuck in the lift mechanism, I should have routed it to the outside of the door lock rods. The when I figured that out, the gizmo I used to make the loop in the cable to attach to the window lift got jammed between it and the door reinforcement bars, Finally I made the attachment loop 'bigger' i.e. the cable clamp was far enough away from the window frame not to get caught.
Thanks to the kind souls who've contributed to window lift sagas over the years on this forum, I got this job done without too much trouble!
