It's been just over a year since the project started and the 280 engine was removed. I did Kevin's steering bushing mod. and had the dash out, so the fact that the LH signal light came on when I released the handbrake and only one headlight came up, seams pretty normal for a TVR that hasn't been driven in almost 2 years. It was dark before I was satisfied that most of the parts would not fall off, and with only one headlight I didn't go far. The first drive usally gives the most honest impression. Mine were that the car is nothing like a 280i/Tasmin; there is no time to enjoy the view. The engine has lots of torque but I felt the car was very light, not that it wanted to become airboune, but that sooo little throttle had such a big reaction instantaniously. The handling felt the same, even better with the new tighter steering.I was afraid that I may have selected a combination of tires, rear axle ratio and the 5 speed, that would result in a first gear that was to low. Not the case! The rear suspention was off slighty, and was only detectable by modist L/H rear tyre wear. Now you can tell. It's got a little dance everytime you apply power or shift. I loved the sweet sound of the 280 but that gone! When I got home my wife had tracked my entire trip from the bedroom while watching MTV. I still have lots of issues to work out, but last night sure charged my battery. This forum gave me the encouragement, Thanks!

Swapping an entire new engine seamed easier then half the problems that appear on this forum, but now that the engine is in I have all the typical Wedge problems that I thought I didn't have.
