Hi Guys,

I’m having someone do some undercar work before I bring my recently acquired 280i home.
So far I have purchased u joints, fuel hoses, brake pads etc....but since this car didn’t get much use recently, I’m expecting trouble with hardware etc... rather than ask him to chAge the brake pads, I’m thinking of just opting for calipers and brake hoses as well. I see the xjs are the correct calipers to order but what about brake lines? From the p/n list I think it shows they’re from a mini??

Thanks for your help!

Thank you for the direction. Being over here in the States I was hoping I could find a braided or high performance equivalent a little closer to home. I was wondering if the same hose/dimension for an xjs will work or for a mini. I don’t have the car in front of me to measure/ compare etc...
Want to order online and send the correct hose to the car/mechanic correctly, the first time.

I guess that’s my question—-if I order an xjs line will it work?

Is he dropping the entire rear end? I'd ask Bill at Dominion if he has hoses. Otherwise I'm sure you can did them on the web - it's only 1 for the rear end so a Jag one should work (and the end should be the same).

But could be longer/shorter?

As I recall that hose doesn't go direct into the caliper, but into a copper pipe on a bracket.

Is thread on the end of the copper pipe union is the same as the jag installation ? I don't know. So you might need to measure it up before ordering.

Thanks guys. I’ll buy the jag calipers and one hose. He can use it if needed. Just trying to be prepared in order to limit lift time.

Thanks again!

is there not a race / rally team or even modified car place nearby? They will have no problem in making up a st st flexi line for you. We have Aeroquip and Goodridge for hose and fittings for DIY make up (easy - and youtube to help too) there must be similar in the good ol' US

No, only big box stores... sorry, a "TVR" is not in the computer. [Kidding. sort of] A couple of years ago, I was told by a local Ford dealer that Ford never made a 2.8 V-6. He finally admitted 'it was so old it was not in the computer any more'. Grady

I have access to all those places and more (I’m an aircraft technician as well). No problems with lines, machine work or other. My problem is the car is 1000 miles away still and want to buy/send the parts to the car. Put it in the lift once and done. Limiting the lift time etc...
New calipers and hose, fuel hoses and filter ordered-dine. Thanks for the help!
