Hi All,

Does anyone know where I might be able to get the plastic covers that fit over the seat reclining mechanism ??
I am currently refurbishing my wedge (390se) seats and have never had one fitted to the passenger seat since owning the car (15 years !!!)
The drivers one is there but has seen better days but is serviceable, so ideally I'd be looking for a pair, but definitely a passenger seat one.
Does anyone know if these were fitted to any other manufacturers seats or has anyone had them scanned and laser printed ??

Thanks in advance for any thoughts or ideas on these.
Dave.

Ahh if you could laser print them it would be easy ;^) This question has come up before, I am wondering if I should ask my son's friend with a 3D printer to make some...

That would be great if you would Adam as I'm sure there are a number of people who would buy them.
Would need a rough estimate on the price.
Dave.

There is also the issue of finish with the 3D printing, I have a friend who has a professional set up but the finish Vs strength is an issue, Originally they were an X19 part, are you sitting down....

Hi Ziga,
Following Adrian@'s post I just had a quick search for X19 and came up with the same page you linked too.
Errrr, certainly not going to pay that for them.
I know a 3D printed one probably wouldn't turn out with exactly the same finish but its got to be better than looking at a big spring.
I had thought about making one, in "Blue Peter" style, in aluminium, then covering with vinyl to match the seat.

If anyone can 3D print them though, I'd be up for a pair.

Dave.

The finish on my 3d printed version is something I thought I could live with in my car...but then they deformed, that is why I made mine in FG using the 3D printed ones as moulds.

Mark, It is not something I have made to sell...I needed 3 sets for my cars, so went through the process of 3D failure and then make moulds (I will not be 3D printing any more as they would be more expensive than the FG ones, even with the hand finishing that the FG one takes). IF you need some, I can find time to lay some up. A@

Hi Adrian@,
I'd be up for a pair in FG if you want to let me know a price for them.

Dave.

Not in anyway trying to compete with Adrian and his fine hand crafted reproductions but I have a genuine pair in very good condition available.

They aren't going to be cheap but a little better than £99 each!

PM me if interested smile

Not to be too dense, but did X-19 have the same [whatever brand-can't remember] seats as a wedge? Thanks

TVR seats were made by "Cambro", factory was in Coventry I believe?

Quite possible they also supplied Fiat? Possible same frame or at least hinge mechanism, but different padding/upholstery?

One of these looks to be missing its cover, X1-9 seats

My understanding is that Cambro relates purely to the company Cambro, foam and plastics, so, foam bases, foam backs and the covers not the seats, Callow and Maddox were the Coventry based seat manufacturer.
