Nuts comming undone.
Discussion
I started getting some vibration.....I know, hard to tell blatting away, but definatley front wheelish. Sooooo check the wheel nuts, OK. Have a feel around and on one side two of the 3/4" nut and bolts holding the bottom ball joint on one side and one on the other loose:yikes:
Got me torque wrench on and did them up to 70 odd lbs. Anyhow, bible is out on loan and cannot locate me granada book, anyone have the torque setting? Also there are no washers.
I did catch one before after hearing a clonk so this is the second time but 3......
So ladies and gents, the medical advice is correct. Check your nuts.

There are nylocs on but not sure if there is enough for a locking washer. I have thread lock so I will probably try that and keep an eye on it. Bit awkward to get the wheel off due to steep drive and no clearance garage (a pox on modern house designers and may the fleas of a thousand camels infest their armpits).
Failing that, new nylocs.

worth cleaning the threads up with a wire brush and put new nuts back with some engine oil, this allows the torque figure to go into tensioning the joint and not just overcoming the friction

I have been looking in me supplies and would appear to have a suitable replacement for nut and bolt however not checked if it the right type, idea being locking washer, thread lock and nyloc.....maybe drill the beggers and split pin them as well

Peter, is there some danger of you defecting to the dark side? You seem to be around the Wedge forums a lot...
Not likely, but there seem to be lots of interesting 'hands on' type discussions here. Hope you don't mind me poking my head round the door from time to time ...
