Hi People

Mybad luck this year in the wedge continues after the failure to get to BBWF this year in the wedge as it overheated, I did make it in the MG

Well the wedge was at the Garage having a bit fixed and a parts delivery Van backed into the righthand rear corner !!!!!!

One Cracked bumper which will have to come off and be fixed and sprayed and a cracked right hand rear light ,
So if anyone has one they can spare please let me know (Renault Fuego)

Presumably they are paying the exhorbitant cost of the rear lens?

In which case I have the other side to Zig's, if this is a wrong'un.

Thanks Mark and Adam

The fix to the Bumper and paint will be £400 just got to get my paint guy to fit it in, as he is doing a rush job on something a bit special at the moment,
Cant put on here what it is but you guys know where I am from so can guess from that! Awaiting details from the Car parts delivery company, they are being a bit slow to take responsibility, the driver owned up to my garage!

If they mess you about at all then do it through your insurance.
I have heard stories of companies shilly-shallying and then you miss the deadline for claiming and have to get it back though court.

It’s the right hand one I had real difficulty with also. The left side (it right on a fuego) can still be bought new from France at 60 euros.

The drivers side on a wedge though is a right arse ache, I looked for months and found a good used one in Germany (ebay)

insurance claim obviously...so the owner should not be involved in sourcing parts.

Hi All

I may have found a rear light in Holland know more next week,
Yes it looks like the car parts company want to go via insurance, so will start that next week also,
Will have to tell them, I want my paint guy to do it and if I can find a rear light, I will get it.
Such a shame its one of parts that are nowadays impossible to get new, its only 4 or 5 years ago
they were fairly easy to get.

The problem you might find is that the insurers (or the approved garage) insist on new parts, so you might have some negotiating to do.

And I have the offside! ;^) Not bad nick, has a few surface scratches, but they might polish out with t-cut.

Update

So i told my insurance company and said i would like to claim direct off the vans insurance company, they said ok to try, as they would deduct the excess.
Went to the other insurance company and brooker was given a run around for several days but last friday got a nice chap in third party claims, they said you will have to use one of our repairers etc, I then explained classic car, dont want to etc,
After a bit of a chap he said send in details of claim etc and photo's of the damage, and photo's of the car in general, I explained i had it on agreed value with my insurance company, He went away and said he would get back to me Monday Tuesday after speaking with a special engineer they have for advising on Classics.
Came back to me today does not want to see the car, happy for me to get it repaired anywhere I want, and is in the process of sending me a full payment of my estimate i got into my bank account.
Happy with that.
Just got to prize my paint guy off a couple of very special cars, to do mine.
