Hi Ian,
Refering to my topic of the day,see "lights make inj's click", Dickymint photo'd the diode thingy. Question- I have in front of me a pack of diodes from RS. They are 1N4002 100v diodes. Are they ok to use ?
In the photo he has two diode terminals but I only have one, is this normal?.............cheers UG

If its any help Mark - the two cathode (banded)ends are connected together. One anode end goes to ignition relay and the other goes to the headlight lift control relay.

Yes they should work fine Mark. Any of the 1N4000 series is OK; the current rating is the same, it's the PIV (Peak Inverse Voltage) that goes up as the part number does, but it's not really relevant at 12v DC...

Take a few spares, you're bound to plug at least one in the wrong way round

Just to confuse you, my car has three diodes... though I suspect two is correct.
