earthing connection

The earthing wiring of my '83 280 conv. is only connected to the engine and I'd like to make an earthing connection from the engine to the chassis. So I'll then have two earthing points. Is this possible or will it damage the system?

No problems... The chassis should also be earthed as well.

What kind of wires do I need? Thicker (less resistance), the same or a thinner wire (more resistance)?

Thick . I would use the type of cable used for batteries. A braided wire is usually used.

Keep it short and make sure all the connections are clean.
