Strange insurance experience

So I toyed with putting the elder sprog onto our Astra insurance and to my surprise it was only going to be £350 extra - given he only passed his test 7 months ago I though that was not bad - with Admiral.

Then I wento on their site and they said if I add another car I get an extra discount. What - even for a Wedge? Well, there was nothing to lose as my renewal is in June. So I added on a supercharged 4l wedge and hey presto - £100 off the Astra, and the wedge would be £50 in June (for 5 months). Seemed pretty good no?

Then the website started playing up so I had to phone them to sort out a few inconsistencies, and suddenly the discount price jumped £100+ upwards... it seemed a bit scammy/scummy to me so I bailed and went back to a standard quote for me and the wife, much cheaper.

But I was quite surprised on the apparent discount you can get by adding a monster wedge!
