:yikes: What was i thinking!
I nearly bought a 911 Turbo(930). In fact in the space of 24 hours i became infatuated with it.
I just so happened to see an advert for a really nice one, and before i knew it i was obtaining insurance quotes and p/x prices with the dealer.
Has this happened to any of you lot?
I've snapped out of it now...good sense has prevailed. [small] I need a lie down[/small]:wobble:

Wayne I know why you were tempted, I had a 911 carrera years ago and it was a fantastic car, that you would quite happily use every day (I didn't) and in 18 months of ownership nothing fell off or went wrong and I sold it for virtually what I paid for it. In fact looking at prices it would still be holding it's price well now some 12 years later! I had a targa so you could still get the roof off and the air cooled flat six had a unique distinctive sound of its own. On the plus side you could fit two small adults in the back (i.e the skirts 
) and it would be ideal now for the kids. On the down side, the Mrs loved driving it 
It was not as raw as the Wedge but very quick, capable and of course nicely screwed together.
The turbo was a bit of a handful I believe but with the wide body looked fantastic.
Some people on PH have a phobia about porkers but personally I still love them. Would love a Carrera 4S for an everyday runaraound.

Judging by the number of 911's for sale and recent comments at classic car meets , eg Ashby Folville-Leics where quite a few 911's appear - someone begged me to buy their's -I would be very careful about the maintenance costs, you think wedges are sometimes pricey for bits , try prices for these !

Just arrived at work and on the way as I sat in traffic I was sat behind a Porsche Boxter (Thingy
both with our hoods down). The wedge rumbling nicely and the Porsche bloke looking in his mirrors at the TVR giving me that superior Porsche owner look 
. Anyway we slowly move along in the traffic past a bunch of school kids and various folk at a bus stop, as we came by the kids shouted look at that TVR, whoa that engine nose 
Result 1 x deflated Porsche driver wondering why he spent all that money when he could have had one of those Mastercard Priceless Moments in a Wedge !!!

School kids, don't you love them. Over some friends yesterday and son number 1 appears with his mates just as we are about to leave, "wow, look at that" etc upon which they disappear to the rear of the car. So there is a gaggle of them waiting for me to start up, I oblige, masses of grins and thumbs up and "wow mister". Can't think of many cars that will do that. Thing is, how did they know? Maybe the son said I know this loud car where upon they said prove it........
Brilliant..I must admit i nearly always get some kids shout "nice car Mister" whenever i leave or arrive back home!!
