Heaters - again

Just going over some niggly bits before heading of to LeMans and thought I'd look at the hoses hanging off the heater !

How do the heater controls work ? ( having no stickers)

From what I can gather the bottom slider opens a valve in the engine bay to let hot water through the system.

What does the top slider do ? Is seems to move a flap at the top of the heater, but seems to make no difference in air coming out. So is it supposed to be left for dash and foot vents and right for screen vent ?

Does anyones actually work ?

My side vents are directly linked to the inlet in the spoiler so that should get some air in but only at ambient temperature when moving I imagine

IIRC the de-mist setting is with the top valve set to the middle position, but it was many moons ago that the veneer gave up so don't quote me on that. If anyone has the answer I'd be interested too.

My heater controls have blue left and red right. De mist left and cabin right.

So to demist in winter you have the controls away from each other ?
Top left (screen ?)
Bottom right (heat ?)

Just different from any modern car I drive that seems to be everything to the right for screen and heat

Ta for that I'll try that combination tomorrow and see what happens

Can't remember which does what, top and bottom wise but yes. Also, seeing as how my fast speed position has packed in (I have a roundtoit on the case) I also use rainx anti mist.
