Thought it was about time I joined up. rolleyes

On "How Many Left" there's just 57 alive (30 licensed/27 sorned) out of the 242 built. Mine's sorned, 1993 (K), two owners - mine since 1995, and done 18000 miles. Got the engine out at the moment and hoping to be back on the road later this year (ridiculously optimistic).

I previously owned one of the earliest 400SEs - I've seen it in photos on here in the past (reg. F40 OLH). Any others in the North Surrey area?

Great seeing on here some of the other Wedges being kept alive - it's always been my favourite shape TVR.

Fingers crossed for some warm weather soon eh? thumbup

Used to own this one, rebuilt from wreck a few years ago, think it might have changed to red now though

F40 OLH is owned by Number 7 on here, though he rarely visits now. Based in Kent. I'll message him for you...

Hi Boxhiller. What a coincidence. As you can see, I'm taking good care of the Big Wedge - me at Spasmile I'm guessing you are either Alan or Michael?

Nope, neither!

Looking good. Very shiney. Now got the 450 boot spoiler I see. It was mine back in '93 I think. I might have bought it off Alan?

Got a stack of papers with invoices to previous owners. "T"?
It's had a respray since then, and a lot more work in the 20 years we've owned it.

Whats up with the engine ?

It does look a tight squeeze in the garage.

Not north Surrey but south here. Merstham.

Yes, it is a bit cramped - especially with a bike in there as well.

Wanted to upgrade to a 4.3/4.5 or maybe even a 4.6 and while the engine was out I could attend to a slightly annoying 2nd gear synchro problem. Worn baulk ring now replaced.

While the gearbox was out I took the prop shaft to be balanced as I'd noticed a vibration which came in at around 85mph and disappeared around 90. The prop shaft hadn't been checked at the factory and needed a decent amount of weight added to make it balanced. I'm sure this will cure the vibration.

I've now got a long term health problem which is preventing me doing too much of anything and I'm also reconsidering about the engine spec. I don't really need much more performance as I've got a bike for adrenaline kicks and a fairly brisk daily driver too.
Added to this is the fact that I'd lose the engine number and some of the originallity of the car. So maybe I'll keep it at 3.9 but just change the cam, get larger valves and a free-er flowing inlet manifold plus a remaped chip to suit. We shall see...

Merstham's not far. There used to be an occasional meet at Newlands Corner car park, ever take it there now?
Yours looks great - full refurb?

Yes used to go to Newlands corner first Sunday of the month. Originally years ago with my Esprit, There were always TVRs as well. Then the Mrs started working every sunday so that was that.
Would love to use it more than I do, its amazing how 3 kids can mess car enjoyment up!

Yes its been refurbished but before my ownership. Ideally it needs a respray as its diy but it will do for now.

Get it back up and running as soon as you can, it will bring a big smile on your face. Mine does every time its started even if its only to move it out of the way.

Good weather's on it's way. You'll just have to fill the passenger seat with one of the kids while the Mrs. is working. Make them draw lots for the privilege. The losing two can look after each other! Then rotate.

.......Or use it on a Saturday. smile
