My 400SE has a hole in the exhaust i can see that the near side rear driveshaft has rubbed it away
Is this a common problem?

It's well known but shouldn't happen if the fixings are good. I did 60K miles with no problems.

It sounds like the same one I looked at recently, in Sheffield. The guy said a new clutch had been fitted and in the process they had to move the exhaust - sounds like it wasn't remounted properly.

thanks all I will check out the mountings a.s.a.p.

still going through all the problems
heater switch wont work
wood veneer peeling
someone has carpeted behind the seats on the rear shelf i,m just on with retrimming it in leather.
I will post some pics at the weekend....ohh yes and have you seen the weather for the weekend 70 degrees plus, TVR top off again he he he

Sometimes - having to much luggage can cause that .. it happened to me once.

Exhaust mountings are ok
took exhaust off and welded patch on
sounds gorgeous again

car seams to have a tiny misfire until fully warm then its ok ....any ideas or is this normal???

Maybe do a plug check and clean at some point?
